Restore purchases
Last updated
You only ever pay for the Full 7-Night Program once. If you reinstalled Ferber, moved to a new iPhone, or are using a family member's purchase, the unlock may not show up on its own. Restoring is free and takes about 30 seconds.
How to restore
- Make sure your iPhone is signed in to the same Apple ID you used to buy the program. Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top.
- Open Ferber.
- Tap Restore purchases. You will find it on the unlock screen that appears before Night 2, and in Ferber's Settings under Purchase & about.
- If prompted, sign in to your Apple ID.
- The app checks with the App Store, finds your purchase, and unlocks Nights 2 to 7 within a few seconds.
If restore does not find your purchase
Three likely causes, in order of frequency:
1. A different Apple ID
The most common cause. The purchase belongs to the Apple ID that bought it. If you bought on one Apple ID and are now signed in with another, the purchase is not visible.
- Sign out and back in with the original Apple ID if you have it.
- If you cannot remember which Apple ID you used, check your purchase history (see below).
2. The purchase did not go through
If the payment was interrupted or declined, there is nothing to restore yet. Check your purchase history. If you see a charge for Ferber but the program is still locked, email support@ferberapp.com with the receipt from Apple and we will help sort it out.
3. Family Sharing is not set up
The Full 7-Night Program supports Apple Family Sharing. For a family member to use a purchase someone else made:
- You both need to be in the same Family Sharing group.
- The person who bought it needs purchase sharing turned on (Settings > your name > Family Sharing > Purchase Sharing).
- The family member then opens Ferber on their own iPhone and taps Restore purchases.
Where to check your purchase history
Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID, or on your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Media & Purchases > View Account > Purchase History.
Moving to a new iPhone
Your purchase follows your Apple ID, not the device. To move Ferber to a new iPhone:
- Install Ferber on the new iPhone.
- Sign in with the same Apple ID you used on the old one.
- Open Ferber and tap Restore purchases.
- Nights 2 to 7 unlock within a few seconds.
Your night history lives on the old phone and is not synced through an account, because there is no account. If you set up your new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup of the old one, the app's data may come across with it. See your data for details.
Still stuck
Email support@ferberapp.com with your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and a screenshot of the Ferber line in your purchase history. We can usually work out what happened from that.
